“ One of my fave place to visit while in town because the galbi-jjim is amazing. I got the one with fire & melted cheese but next time I'd opt for without because it was on the heavy side. There was a bit of wait but they have a good system. They take your order while you want and once seated, the food was ready. Service was quick since they want people in and out. During the wait, it was raining but there was a tent for us to wait. ”
“ A true late night icon of Ktown. I had to come try the famous Galbi Jjim of course. My family shared the large portion and had leftovers after. A bit pricy but it comes with banchan of course so you don't really need to order anything else. We did not splurge for the cheese because $8 extra felt like a robbery. Now let's get to it. Overall, I think it lived up to expectations. The sauce was delicious - very flavorful, umami, a little spicy, a little sweet. Some parts of the meat were very tender but other parts were chewy and that's what's holding me back from bumping up my rating. It's a very hearty and comforting meal. ”
“ We love Galbi Jjim and the place serves the best one! Always order large, with cheese. Extra meat is a must if you are wearing your sweatpants. I tried mild and not spicy, and I like mild better. If it is up to me, I would order more spicy but too bad, my family is a whimp. This branch is a little small compared to other location. But service is always good no matter which branch you go. ”
“ The short rib and oxtail with cheese was absolutely the reason to check this place out. The hype was real and it's very flavorful, it should be for $100. There was a decent amount of oxtail, but more short rib and it had a deep flavor, that was a little spicy even though you can ask for different spice levels. They melted the cheese in front of you and it was mostly for show since there wasn't as much cheese as it initially seems like before they torch it. I'd go back for this dish if I was really in the mood for short ribs. They move tables in and out fairly quickly even if the line seems long outside. ”
“ First time eating at Sun Nong Dan. We ordered the galbi Jjim, which is an assortment of meats, including short rib, ox tail, back rib braised with onions, potato and rice cake. It's served with molten cheese that is melted table side. The food was amazing! The service was very prompt as the restaurant was busy and they want you to eat and split so others can dine. The setting is very casual and it is a bit loud, but not terrible. All in all a great experience, I highly recommend! ”
“ A classic. Always get the meat sweats afterwards but it's always worth it. Friends from out of town r always amazed when I take them here. Be prepared to bring lactose pills if you're intolerant, but u can always order without cheese. Also, parking here is a shitshow so I recommend the western location! They both have equally good food, I don't think one is better than the other. ”
“ You know you're in for a treat when you snag a table at Sun Nong Dan, at any of the locations within LA. On a busy Friday night after swooping on a Loading Zone parking spot adjacent to the wild lot that SND is located in -- we got seated in the cozy restaurant after a meager 10-minute wait. The Galbi Jjim is enough to share for 2-3 people, so don't be alarmed at the price. And trust; it is SO worth it. The delectable galbi paired with the just-the-right-amount-of-oily veggies kept nailing the spot, over and over again as I engulfed it with my rice bowl. Definitely comfort food that's to be enjoyed a few times yearly, and really enjoyed the staff facilitating our experience to seat as many patrons as possible! Would try the other locations soon; for science. ”
“ Sun Nong dan is amazing! I got the galbi Jim with 2 of my buds and it was genuinely so good. The meat was really tender, the soup was flavorful and spicy, and the cheese brought a nice richness to everything! Also, the flamethrower the cheese which is pretty bad ass and fun to watch! Mike was our server and he's really friendly. Definitely would come again. Make sure to bring your friends because it's a lot of food! ”
